Prakash K Nair

Professor of OB and HRM, Ph.D.: Texas A&M University

Dr. Prakash Nair teaches courses in management, organizational behavior, leadership, design thinking, and research methodology. Besides teaching MBA and PhD students at MYRA, he has also done programs on personality, leadership, and innovation for hundreds of students from colleges across the country, and for professionals from various industries. Prior to working at MYRA he was an Associate Vice President at Infosys. He and his team were primarily tasked with developing Infosys senior leaders including their assessment, training, and coaching, and facilitated numerous sessions for managers across the globe.

Dr. Nair has close to thirty years of experience that includes management and leadership roles in both the industry and academia. He started his career in sales and worked for over nine years managing various sales functions in a multinational company. He was the Head of the company’s Direct Sales Division at the time he left for a career in the US. In the US he worked for Texas A&M University for close to ten years in various teaching, training and OD roles. He also earned his PhD from Texas A&M University in Educational Human Resource Development. He completed an Executive Education Program in Global Leadership from Stanford University. He has many certifications in his field of practice. He is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and a Cialdini Method Certified Trainer (CMCT). The latter is a certification for teaching influence based on the work of the famous social scientist Professor Robert Cialdini's six principles of persuasion. He has a certification in faculty teaching and instruction by the Center for Teaching Excellence, Texas A&M University. He also has a certification in Charismatic leadership, and Certificates in Leadership and Business from Mays Business School, USA.

He has presented papers in many international forums in the area of OB, leadership, and training, and has co-authored articles in journals such as the Journal of Personality and Individual Differences, Journal of Leadership & Organization Development, and T+D, an international talent practitioner journal published by the Association for Talent Development. He has also co-authored an article proposing a new model for competency development, published in the 2011 Pfeiffer Annual: Training. He co-authored two papers that were presented at the 2014 Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology International Conference. His research has won prestigious awards in the US, one from the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD) and the other from The University Council for Workforce and Human Resource Education (UCWHRE). He serves as a reviewer for the Human Resource Development Quarterly (HRDQ).
